Idk i just love this song, it makes me feel alot. i like using it when im preparing for a scene. The lyrics are heartfelt and the melody takes me off into the far corners of my mind. I LOVe IT!
Last year me and my bestie somehow got hooked on the Stephanie Meyer “Twilight” series of books. The books were like drugs, and the pages like potato chips once u flipped on page you could help but to flip the next and the next. I was pooping books open left and right until i went thru the whole series n a matter of only a couple of months. Something about the whole forbidden love thing, the ominous setting and the subject of vampire meets human had me reeling nd yearning for more. The books evoke feelings from my adolescence, the one’s of being so totally in love and infatuated that you felt you’d die if you were to ever lose that person.
i wasnt surprised when they came out with the movies, cuz why wouldn’t they? the books had been such a huge success that it only made sense to follow in the footsteps of others like JK Rowling, but when i finally had the chance to view the film on the silver screen i was sadly disappointed, my imagination was a much better playground. Edward, the lead character and vampire, looked totally different then i imagined. and i was sadly disappointed at who they cast as Bella, the love torn protagonist, but nonetheless i watched the flick, grimacing at every misstep taken. i was unhappy with the screen adaptation but i’m willing to give it another shot.
This Friday comes out the sequel to “Twilight” and the second book in the series “New Moon” and i, much like every other teenage girl in the USA, will be running to the theater to catch it. They’ve coined a new director for this one< Chris Weitz> we’ll see what he can conger up. They also introduce a whole set of new characters, a bunch of werewolves, and and a new coven of vampires called the “Voltari”, i may have misspelled that, but anyways, worth the read.
For those of u that have no idea of anything i’m talking about, i strongly recommend that you go and read the books first, and perhaps don’t see the movies at all, trust me you wont be missing much. These books have now become a part of pop culture, you might as well be in the “know”. Here’s a bit of the trailer to help fill you in a bit.

At some point in our lives we all chose to medicate. Some do it to numb a feeling, others to runaway from reality. It’s become a common use of escape and for many it eventually becomes an addiction. Whether it’s over the counter, something prescribed through a health practitioners, or just plain drugs, alcohol, and nicotine, it’s something that’s always outside ourselves.
In the case of this song the lyrics point to using a person to aid in alleviating a feeling of loneliness., and much like a drug, after the effects ware off one is left with a momentary satisfaction, followed by an inevitable crash, and the return of the very same feelings one was attempting to avoid by committing the act.
When it all comes down to it the reality is, we need to look inside ourselves for the answers, for a cure -the good, the bad, and the ugly- in order to heal ourselves and move on, otherwise we could just go on repeating the same twisted and unhealthy behavior. Love thyself!
I love the lyrics, being that they are simple and concise. I love the melody also, it takes you on this man’s journey from start to finish. I find this song typical AFI, they’ve managed to keep their unique sound while taking up another notch. And thank God, David Havok’s not wearing glitter and make-up anymore! I’m digging this suited up polished look he’s got going on, super sexy! It’s Perry Ferrel meets Adam Levine in Prada! That’s more like it Davey! Double Nipp salute to you!
